Museum of Science Fiction

Washington D.C.

The Museum explores how the propaganda of science fiction can create a new, nongovernmental actor in the political center of Washington D.C. to publicly criticize the American government and provide a space for activism. The progressive museum starts at Benjamin Banneker Park along the river and ends piercing through the Smithsonian Castle on the National Mall, reorienting the visitor from the established axes of power to the socially critical axis of science fiction. Focusing on the final intervention, the parasite lives inside and overtakes the host structure, asserting propaganda techniques in order to create new museum spaces for social and political activation.
