[Sky/Play/Land]Scape
Copenhagen, DK
In order to counteract Copenhagen’s constant rainy conditions and terribly flat terrain, the culture house emulates nature and refers to its site by creating interactive sky and ground planes, which house diverse street culture programs while creating a sense of exploration throughout the playscape. The program, which ranges from indoor basketball, skating, dance and cafe, is all on the same floor but landscape differences are dictated by programmatic needs. The skyscape creates a weather-safe canopy, unifying the diverse program while offering a chance for further play opportunities on the roof.
